These are the sheets from our brainstorming session. Maybe we can start to summarize and sort through these (Ann and Bonnie) on a separate page or further below and allow the folks from these groups to expand and explain in the section below.
From Bonnie: I started a separate page for the Vision - I'll get an initial draft out there tomorrow, 12/11 (or someone else can) and we can edit it together from there. I also started a discussion thread requesting clarification from Group 3 on a couple of their points. Thank you!

Group 1:
+ hands on, live is part of mix
+ technology as a tool
+ teach proper use integration *including responsible use, ethics
+ flexibility - not about a specific technology
+ reduce use of paper
+ improve staff collaboration
+ don't lose people skills
+ student excellence: GOAL productive healthy members of society
+ wireless
+ student 2 student
+ access to everything @ school and @home
+ not about purchasing technology
+ lower cost than today
+ let students use technology they have
+ equitable - economically and learning style
+ use technology efficiently & appropriately
+ equity across Andover schools [gatekeeper]

Group 2:
  • Students control their learning
  • Ubiquitous technology: what students are using at home is the same as what they are using at school
  • Collaborative learning community that encapsulates the 21st Century Learning Skills (ex. the ISTE NETS and the ALA Standards) at a very young age.
  • Students as critical thinkers and problem solvers
  • Teachers as Learners alongside their students
  • Teachers as collaborators with students and colleagues (an example of this is when the schools started the 1:1 laptop program and the teachers figured out how to collaborate in order to teach everything)
  • Global community/digital citizens: leveraging the Internet and Web 2.0 for collective intelligence

Group 3:
1) Learning Community
2) Open Access
3) Strong Culture
4) Simple
5) Transparency
6) Leveraging for productivity
7) Multiple Modalities
8) Adequate Professional Development and Support
9) Plan for Obsolescence and Maintenance
10) Project and Inquiry based
11) Team based and multidisciplinary approach to Professional Development
